For most, the Fourth of July means time spent outside with loved ones, grilling and American-themed everything. For others, it means excessive noise, scared pets and potential injuries or property damage. Drop a pin on the illegal fireworks map to help the Lakewood Police Department plan future education and enforcement efforts.

Please remember that fireworks are illegal in Lakewood and be respectful of others.

Big Belmar Bash: Join us for a community celebration of Independence Day 2023 in Belmar Downtown Lakewood on Monday, July 3 from 5 to 10 p.m. that will culminate in a spectacular drone light show.

The City of Lakewood and Belmar Downtown Lakewood are partners in creating a community celebration that includes live music, kids' activities, local vendors, food and drinks. The celebration will take place throughout Belmar, including along South Teller Street and in the Belmar Plaza. The cutting-edge drone light show will feature breathtaking visuals, forming patterns and shapes in the sky with a variety of colors and effects set to begin at approximately 9:15 p.m.

Map illegal fireworks in Lakewood

11 months

(Instructions: Click on the map. On the left side, click on the "+" symbol and a menu will show with a blue pin. Click on the blue pin and drag it to the location on the map.)

Drop a pin to show the Lakewood Police Department where you’re seeing or hearing illegal firework activity. By dropping a pin, you’ll help determine the areas where illegal fireworks are being ignited for future education and enforcement efforts. The address of the pin will not be visible but the username created will be. If you do not wish to have an identifying username, simply enter your username as "anonymous."

Placing a pin does not dispatch an agent to the location. If you are experiencing a situation involving an injury, fire or a medical emergency, please call 911.

Please do not call 911 to report illegal fireworks. It’s important that we keep 911 telephone lines clear for life-threatening emergencies. To report fireworks in your neighborhood, call the police nonemergency number at 303-980-7300 or report online or via the Jeffcom911 smartphone app. We ask for your patience when calling on busy nights like the Fourth of July when call volume is high.
