Help map illegal fireworks in Lakewood 2020
Consultation has concluded
The consultation for this project has concluded.
For most, the Fourth of July means enjoying the outdoors, grilling and American-themed everything. For others, it means excessive noise, scared pets and potential injuries or property damage -- even fires -- from fireworks shot off in neighborhoods throughout the city.
Drop a pin on the map below to show locations of illegal fireworks you know about to help the Lakewood Police Department plan future education and enforcement efforts.
Fireworks are illegal in Lakewood, and fines can reach $2,650. Do not use 911 to report fireworks except in urgent cases of injury or fire. Dispose of your fireworks at West Metro Fire Rescue locations.
Map illegal fireworks
Drop a pin to show where you’re seeing or hearing illegal firework activity. By dropping a pin, you’ll help determine the areas where illegal fireworks are being ignited for future education and enforcement efforts. The username created for the pin will be shown. If you do not wish to have an identifying username, simply enter your username as "anonymous."
Placing a pin does not dispatch an agent to the location. If you are experiencing a situation involving an injury, fire or a medical emergency, please call 911.
Please do not call 911 to report illegal fireworks. It’s important that to keep 911 telephone lines clear for life-threatening emergencies. To report fireworks in your neighborhood, call the police nonemergency number at 303-980-7300. We ask for your patience when calling on busy nights like the Fourth of July when call volume is high.
