Exciting update! After more than a year of extensive community engagement, the Envision Lakewood 2040 Comprehensive Plan was adopted unanimously by the Lakewood Planning Commission on April 23, 2025. On July 28, City Council unanimously approved the final Plan.

  • City Council and Planning Commission Open House

    As a first step in the update process, the city is having an informative open house for City Council and Planning Commission members to learn about the Comprehensive Plan and the upcoming update process. Residents, businesses, and community members are also welcome to attend.

    Open house details:

    • 5-7:30 p.m., Monday, Aug. 21 at the Lakewood Culture Center lobby located at 470 S. Allison Parkway, Lakewood, 80226.
    • Focus of the open house is to provide information to City Council and Planning Commission on what a Comprehensive Plan is, how the city uses it and why we need to update it. There
