The City of Lakewood Department of Community Resources is embarking on a year-long planning process to create a bold vision for the future of Lakewood’s arts, parks and recreation system. The Department is working with the planning firm, Logan Simpson, to engage the community, evaluate current and future trends in parks and cultural asset planning and determine future priorities. Ultimately, Imagine Tomorrow! Arts, parks and recreation for all, will present a compelling vision for arts and play in Lakewood that is supported by policy guidance in a user-friendly, implementable planning document.
The master planning process will chart a course for the next decade of Lakewood’s investment and programming for parks, recreation and the arts. Once complete, the plan will address current challenges, determine strategies for meeting future demands and establish priorities for achieving the community’s shared vision.

To help create the foundation of Imagine Tomorrow! and chart the course for the next 10 years of arts, parks and recreation in Lakewood, a statistically-valid survey was sent to a select number of Lakewood residents representing Lakewood's demographics. In addition, an online survey was available to all residents. Survey data is also used to inform the Imagine Tomorrow! public meeting conversations and make comparisons to local and national trends.
Didn't have a chance to take the survey? Join us for a public workshop from 5 to 7 p.m. on August 3 at Carmody Park, 2200 South Kipling St., to share your thoughts.
