I'm not currently a member of a community garden, but when I talk to people who are, the number one thing they talk about is the social aspect of gardening with others. Honestly, I usually find myself envious of the kind of friendship and camaraderie they develop. I want in on that! (plus, I think I would pick up some handy tips from my fellow gardeners)

Wanted Tomatoes - But Also Made Lifelong Friends

I joined a community garden because I live in a townhome without a yard. What started out as a wish for a few tomatoes, turned into my summer adventure story! You learn there is no one way to grow vegetables, and how many kinds of vegetables there are! It is wonderful to see so many people out enjoying the fresh air, enjoying community, and learning from each other.Through the years, summer camps have enjoyed learning in our gardens, many from the community have taken advantage of free classes offered in the garden. The garden has hosted, Scouts, Lakewood Summer Camps…
