The City of Lakewood is developing a master plan for the new Porter Park!

Located at 731 Tabor St., Porter Park is a 7.7-acre property purchased in 2021 by the city to provide much needed park space in Ward 1.

To honor the legacy of the Porter family, the park is named after Daniel Wilson Porter and Phyllis Porter. Daniel and Phyllis owned this property and had a love for farming and preservation; Daniel became a master gardener late in life. The Porter family desired the city carry on the farming tradition on the property, with a farming element in the future park that would serve the Lakewood community. The city agreed to incorporate an agriculture theme, and as always, is committed to sustainability. Nearby residents can anticipate lots of open space, native plantings and modest amenities in their new neighborhood park.

Demolition of the existing structures on the site occurred in early 2023. The development of the site is initially funded in the city's five-year Capital Improvement Plan Budget in 2024.

We need your help creating a vision for this future park space and important addition to Lakewood's parks. Use the tools below provide feedback on the project and share your ideas with other residents.
