Managed by the City of Lakewood, the park is beginning a master plan process that will include an assessment of park visitor needs, an evaluation of park and building infrastructure, and design work for future park improvements. These will be packaged into an implementable action plan to serve visitors for the next decade. The city hired DHM Design to lead the projected 18-month planning effort which will include an extensive public engagement process with park visitors and stakeholders.

Share It appears there will be water added and the level will be higher for good. If the 3rd of three levels from the plan is chosen, this will significantly reduce trails and use of the current park AND would take out a lot of wildlife. I would prefer to see the minimum increase of water to maximize the current trails etc. of the park. on Facebook Share It appears there will be water added and the level will be higher for good. Jon Hume asked 9 months agoHi there,
You are referring to the Colorado Water Conservation Board study of water reallocation at Bear Creek Reservoir. You can learn more about the feasibility study at Lakewood.org/BCReservoir. The Bear Creek Lake Park master plan is a separate planning effort to consider improvements to the park in the future. To leave your comments for the Colorado Conservation Board, visit https://cwcb.colorado.gov/bearcreeklake. This project is not managed by the City of Lakewood.

Share Will any raw preserved land be used which includes taking away natural habitat for creation of parking spaces. Will any of these changes affect the wildlife? Will these changes affect the home, back yard feel of this park into a amusement park which then will raise the prices and then also attract visitors who will intern just destroy the park by creating their own trails, leave garbage, color the ground with multiple bags of dog poop and then destroy and damage all this park is about. on Facebook Share Will any raw preserved land be used which includes taking away natural habitat for creation of parking spaces. Attridgekl asked 9 months agoHi there,
As environmental stewardship and conservation is tied directly to the mission of BCLP, there are no plans for any significant changes due to the addition of new amenities. As a part of this study, the primary focus is on the Visitor's Center, Entrance Station, and the Soda Lakes facilities. A capacity analysis is also included to ensure that the park has the carrying capacity that is appropriate for any improved structures.
Kind regards,
Amber
