by usersuz, over 6 years ago

I would ask that the Lakewood Parks & Rec Dept. rethink their policy of managing the parks landscape with the herbicide Roundup. The chemical (glyphosate) is turning up in our food and water and has been deemed a probable carcinogen by the EU, when we were told (1) it does not remain in the environment, (2) it is harmless and (3) it is effective against weeds.

    Bark N Splash

by jgowen, about 7 years ago

We spend a lot of time at the Lakewood Rec Centers with our two kids, whether it's for T-ball, soccer, basketball, swimming lessons, gymnastics, birthday parties, or just spending the morning in the pool with Grandma. But our favorite times there are the Bark N Splash events. Our dog can't get enough!

    Family time at Addenbrooke Park

by Allison, about 7 years ago

We love to walk around Addenbrooke Park! The views are lovely and we love hanging out near the playground. The sculpture, water and picnic shelters are so beautiful. My little one loves all the playgrounds in Lakewood, but this is a photo of her in the swings at Addenbrooke.

    Outdoor time with my Pup!

by Meghan, about 7 years ago

One of the things I love best about Lakewood is the open space. I love to hike with my dog on Green Mountain and when I don't feel like hiking, she can get her exercise at Forsberg Park. We also really love Belmar Park for the great views and sunsets!
